Memorabilia- s/t cassette (Future Shock) review
Two things, first, the people of Cincinnati rule. Always down for total insanity. Shout to all the old heads, DHTL, TUMOR FEAST ETERNAL, all the sick ballers, The Not 7", and ragers. Second, Cincinnati heads are usually two steps ahead or on some deep underground shit and this Memorabilia demo is proof.
I was on vacation when I heard Memorabilia, listened to it in it's entirety on my way to the corner store (props to Bert's in Folly Beach). Got to the condo and immediately ordered it.
Memorabilia hail from Glasgow and play moody post-punk. It's all here, chilling guitar tone, morose dance floor posturing, gloomy pop, and synth. The last song, "in water" mixes it up with some psychedelic bliss that doesn't feel out of place on this demo. I hate to say demo because the production values are great.
Just wait for Memorabilia to sign to 4AD or something. It fits and is a must listen.
