Harm Signals/ Gut Eater split cassette review (Black Artifact)

First, that Harm Signals on Bent Window put me on to this project. That tape rules so I had to check out this split cassette. The HS side is a shout to butthole midwest. Living in butthole Ohio in the winter is the most grueling. HS delivers low-end, desolation with a cacophony of skittering crackle draped over top of it. Cradling Dementia is like watching some epic science fiction movie through totally blown speakers. Get yer wig peeled before it's sold out.

The Gut Eater side reminds me of my youth living deep in the butthole of Ohio. I lived in a mobile home beside a saw mill and all day was the low murmur of trees getting cutdown into boards. Gut Eater makes the murmur far more haunting and unsettling than living in rural Ohio.

If that hasn't sold you on this release, you have to factor in the artwork. Great release from a great label.
